Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s vice president has performed the ground breaking ceremony of the N120bn Bonny-Bodo road which is jointly funded by the Federal Government and the Nigerian Liquidfied Natural Gas (NLNG).
The event which took place in Bonny Island in Rivers state on October 12, is a watershed moment for an island whose only means of access is through murky waters where pirates and other hazards lie.
Osinbajo said the flag off of the project signals the commitment of the Federal Government to thr development of the Niger Delta
According to the terms of the agreement NLNG signed with the Bonny Kingdom and the Federal Government, NLNG will contribute N60bn and the FG will contribute the same amount for the construction of the 40km road over the next four years
